چکیده

Crosslinked anion exchange membranes (AEMs) made from poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) as a backbone polymer and different approaches to functional group introduction were prepared by means of solution casting with thermal chemical crosslinking. Membrane characterization was performed SEM, FTIR, thermogravimetric analyses. The performance AEMs evaluated water uptake, swelling degree, ion capacity, OH- conductivity, single cell tests. A combination quaternized ammonium (QPVA) poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDMAC) showed the highest among other sources. AEM combined mass ratio QPVA PDDMAC 1:0.5 (QPV/PDD0.5) has hydroxide conductivity 54.46 mS cm-1. fuel tests QPV/PDD0.5 membrane yield maximum power density current 8.6 mW cm-2 47.6 mA at 57 °C. This study demonstrates that PVA-based have potential for alkaline direct ethanol cells (ADEFCs) application.
